I've been playing around in EQ and this is what I came up with. The pink looking flower is actually a coral color that the camera washed out. And that yellow really ties in also. It really does all tie together. Well maybe I should've used the larger print florals on the baskets instead of the center. Oh well whats done is done and I'm still pleased with the outcome.
Of course I had to add another picture of whats going on here in Podunk. Everything is blooming and it's so gorgeous! Spring is here and I'm lovin it! This is one of our apple trees.

Its done Its done!
There's no earthly reason that it took me so long to quilt this. But it's one of those quilts with bad vibes. You know the sly little devil that looks so easy. You think your going to fly through it and finish fast. An then BAM, the quilt slams on the breaks and your head hits the wall. Eventually you end up repeatedly asking questions to the quilt as if it could answer. Why won't you lay flat? Why won't you line up? Border how did you get wavy? Seams why are you so bulky? The quilt pleaded the fifth everytime. So I'm doing the same. Yep theres tons of mistakes that I tried to hide. Hopefully you can't spot them in the pictures. There was a lot of time spent asking the powers that be to help me figure out the issues. Of course that was after a few words of an unladylike nature, causing me to ask for forgiveness. So I name thee...."Looking towards the Stars"

Hello Spring
Who doesn't love spring time! These little guys were doing some house shopping. I'm such a sucker for nature. So I just popped in today to share a couple of my favorite nature shots so far this spring. Enjoy!
Oh I've been designing some table toppers for myself and wondered if a tutorial or free pattern would interest any of you? Drop me a comment and let me know if ya'all are sick of the typical cutsie quilt tutorial.

I've been MIA
Sorry I've been a little missing in action. My sweet honey had a knee replacement so I've been doing his running for him. Finally got back into the studio the last couple of days. I've been working on my Tweets quilt and thought I'd share a tip. When using Mylar templates I use a little basting spray on the back of the template to hold it to the fabric when ironing the edges over. Works great! A few ruined pieces until I figured out this dandy stuff works. And another tip: DONT USE TWO SIDED TAPE. I won't give you the horrible details but I'm sure you can figure it out, my brain obviously was left at hospital when I tried the tape.
Just a little dab on the back side. I usually spray it in the lid and use a toothpick to apply to the back of the template. Its good for about 5 or 6 pieces and then it needs to be refreshed by placing the iron on the piece thats next to be ironed and then lay the template on the warm fabric, reactivates the glue! Love this!

Little block and a big mess
Who would have thought a little ditty like this could make such a mess! Now to get it stitched down. I'll do that next week. Love the bright colors. Might actually get the entire quilt done before next year....Maybe.
And the mess. It did look worse! Wheres my maid?
