Happy Valentine's Day 2023

Hello Sweet Quilting Friends!  While searching my photo files I ran across this little cutie from when I still had my office.  The office is now a spare bedroom.  The one and only thing I miss about having an office is my quilt displays/staging area for new quilts.  Anyway, I thought it would be a great picture to share on Valentine's Day.

There's not much to share from the Studio.  Last week went crazy and it was a busy week of running here and there and doing very little in the way of quilting.  This week things look like they might be back to normal so I should be able to get my current quilt off the frame and bound.  That's the plan but as we all know plans can change without warning.  Crossing my fingers and hoping for a much needed week of sewing.  See you soon!

💌❤️❤️Valentine’s Day is not just about love birds but it is also about all the people you love. Happy Valentine’s Day to my family and friends!💗💗

Until next time...

I hope you find time to stitch up something sweet!

Doing a happy dance!

Hello sweet quilting friends!  Just wanted to pop in and share my new pattern covers.  And to let everyone know my patterns are now offered as a physical pattern that can be shipped anywhere in the U.S.  For now they are only available in my Etsy shop but there's plans in the works to get them out there everywhere!  Of course the PDF patterns are still available for instant download.  It's so exciting to see a dream come to life however gradually it may be.  A big ole THANK YOU to each one of you for your support over the years.

~ SALE! ~ 40% off

For the next five days you can get my Sweet Sixteen PDF quilt pattern for a SWEET DEAL...40% off the regular price in both my Craftsy and Etsy Shops.

The sweet little quilt was inspired by the traditional crossing tulips quilt pattern from years ago.  However there's no applique in this quilt pattern.  It's traditionally pieced using quick quilting methods to make it super quick and fun to make.

For my quilt I chose a variety of Lakehouse DryGoods fabrics and a basic red gingham.

Designed as a Valentine quilt but can easily be made into an everyday day quilt just by changing the colors.

This fat quarter friendly quilt is well suited for a beginner or advanced quilter and has been tested by several quilters of varying skill levels.

Sweet Sixteen in La Conner

Nothing makes a Monday morning better than a sweet surprise.  The quilt below was made using my Sweet Sixteen quilt pattern.   Andrea over at Willow Cottage quilt Company used the new line of fabric La Conner by Jera Brandvig (Quilting in the Rain) for Lecien.
You really need to hop over to Willow Cottage Quilt Company to see these great fabrics.
Isn't this just the sweetest!  You can find the pattern for Sweet Sixteen on Etsy here.  And on Craftsy here.

~ Blogger's Quilt Festival~ Entry 1

This will be my first entry ever in the Bloggers Quilt Festival hosted by Amy@Amycreativeside.  I must admit deciding what quilts to enter was difficult.  So the decision was made to add my most recent quilt finish for entry one and my all time most loved quilt for entry 2.
My quilt "Sweet Sixteen" was the last quilt to be quilted.  However I designed and made it well over a year ago.  The inspiration for this quilt came from the old fashion appliqued crossing tulips design.
The plan was for it to hang in my Studio for Valentines Day.  But the overall tradition feel of the quilt allows it to be displayed all year long.  Okay maybe it's just me and my love for the quilt...HAHA!
One of my favorite design elements of the quilt is the fussy cut hearts in the center of the stars and at the top of the hearts.
The reason why I waited so long before quilting it was because I simply didn't know what to quilt.  Then one day it became very clear that I needed to keep the heart motif going in the quilting.  It was well worth the wait.

Thanks for stopping by my little spot in Podunk!

New Pattern ~ Sweet Sixteen ~

Hello sweet quilting friends!  There's lot to share with you today but first I want to say a few words about my new journey.  As you already know I'm launching a new pattern shop on Craftsy.  Selling patterns has long been a dream of mine but taking that first step is always a difficult one.  Many things were standing in my way of taking that first step, so why step?  Just jump in both feet and see what happens.  Thank you so much to those of you who have been my cheerlearders and requested patterns.  Let me also say because I'm selling patterns doesn't mean I will no longer share free patterns.  So keep a look out in the next few weeks for new and exciting stuff here on the blog.   Now without further ado.....My first pattern for sale is Sweet Sixteen.
The Sweet Sixteen design was inspired by the traditional appliqued crossing tulips design.  This new modern version of the crossing tulips has no applique and no tulips.  The heart shaped flowers mimic a tulip and the chain blocks mimic a flower stem.

It was designed as a seasonal Valentine quilt but it also works well as a fall quilt. The image below is Moda Fig Tree prints and since the quilt measures 75 x 75 it would be perfect for autumn hayrides and chilly nights by an open fire.
In one of my favorite combinations of yellow and blue it instantly becomes a beautiful Shabby Chic design.  Wouldn't this make an amazing wedding quilt or graduation gift?
Even though the quilt pattern uses fat quarters and fat eighths it could easily be made into a scrappy quilt, perfect for stash busting or a quilt guild raffle quilt.
The old farm house style of Sweet Sixteen makes for an amazing year around quilt.   The pattern can be purchased at Craftsy by clicking here.   Or by clicking on the Sweet Sixteen picture in the side bar.  If you prefer not to use Craftsy you can email me your paypal email at podunkpretties@gmail.com. I'll be more than happy to send you an invoice for the $10 pattern payment.    Once the invoice is paid your pattern will be emailed to you ASAP.

Thanks for stopping by my little spot in Podunk!
