Note to self

Over the years one of the things I've learned is to take notes.  Due to jumping from one project to the next sometimes details can be forgotten.  Everyone has their own way of keeping track of the details.  Mine isn't a mind blower or very organized but it works for me.  Yesterday afternoon I decided to work on the house blocks again.  The machine applique is almost sewn down.  About another hours worth of work.

Below is how I keep track of the stitch used and the thread.  Not very pretty huh?  But everything I need to know is right there.  House Applique 5.0-2.0, the metal bobbin is the thread I'm using for that quilt.  Its on a metal bobbin because my machine doesn't like the spool.  As you can see there's another note for my Glorified nine patch quilt.  When using decorative stitches that too is added to the little piece of paper.   There's more papers hanging on a paper clip for other projects if needed.  I keep a pen handy behind my pin cushion.  Should the need arise for a different size needle it too would be stuck in the paper.  There you have it, organization for a cluttered mind.

  2. Oh wow! You are so organized! I need to start writing notes but don't know where I would put that many. I have to say that these house blocks are amazing! You could so get published! How do you do it? You are not only freakishly creative, you get tons finished! I hope you at least do a tutorial with those house blocks! XO

  6. Note taking is invaluable. I'd lose the paper because my family likes to play with my pins. I keep a notebook.
