Perfume bottle makeover

Anyone recognize this boot?  It's an Avon perfume bottle.  I'm not sure of the age, but I'm pretty sure the Toilette water inside smells more like vinegar by now.  I found this little boot at a yard sale for 25 cents.  It reminded me of the old glass shoes that my granny collected.  She said when she was a little girl the shoes where sold with candy in them.  Since my boot looked sorta old I dug into the vintage fabric and ribbon stash.  Being that it's breakable I'll never use it, but it sure looks cute sitting on the shelf.
Here's what it looked like before the makeover.  Originally the top was covered with  some type of yukky dirty fabric.   As soon as I brought it home I ripped that nastiness off.  Its a shame I couldn't find a way to let those cute little scallops show.   So what have you made into a pincushion?  Anything unique?

  2. That's very clever and looks so pretty now. I can see why you would only use it as a decoration and not for real though.
