~ Warning Download NOW ~

Things are constantly changing in the online quilting world.  If you haven't heard, Craftsy is changing the way it does business.  They have been one of the hosts for my patterns for a little over a year.  Yesterday they sent out notices letting pattern designers know that some independent pattern designers will be deleted.   I was one of the lucky ones that will be allowed to keep my shop on Craftsy.  However there is no guarantee that all my patterns will stay in my Craftsy shop.

If you have purchased any patterns on Craftsy whether they are mine or any other designer you should download or print them ASAP.

The changes to Craftsy will take place starting December 28.  Most of us were blindsided by this change just as you are.  But change is good so we must all do what we can to make this transition a pleasant experience.   Here is the letter I received to help you understand the changes.

I would like thank all of  you for your continued support during this change.  My patterns are still available for purchase in my Etsy shop.

  1. Thank you so much for the "heads up"!!! I think I know how I will spend some of my time later today!!!! Craftsy isn't the only one that I've been alerted to that will be implementing some changes in the near future. Definitely keeps one on their toes!!!!

  4. Really? Through the Christmas season? With such short notice?!? No, change is not always good. I'm glad your shop has been spared, but what about all those that were not?

  5. change is not always good. That's a myth. For instance, when we joined Craftsy they told us our patterns would be there forever. It was a selling point sort of. Now we'll have to download or print them and not even know which designers are to be put out. AND they haven't let us, the customers know. It's poor business practice, and poor form to do it without notice. I already wrote to the company asking which designers of mine were going away. And to take the patterns we've already purchased with no warning? No that's not a good change.
    Thanks for telling us. LeeAnna

    1. I guess I'm trying to look at things differently. While I too have patterns purchased and need to secure them, I also would like to believe that the change COULD be good for everyone. I do think the way they went about it could have been handled better. But I cannot change that. What I can change is where I purchase patterns and I sell my patterns and better marketing plan to sell my patterns somewhere else. For me getting angry about it solves nothing and hurts no one but me. I also think it's my our job as customers and designers on Craftsy to be proactive and let as many people know as possible of the changes. A quote by Louis Lamour.....The only thing that never changes is that everything changes.

  6. Thank you so much! I know what I will be doing during this busy next week. I will fit it in each evening when my DH and I sit down to relax in front of the TV. The dog may be upset with me since she likes to sit on my lap, but my laptop may have to be there for a few days! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
