Ready to deliver

Who doesn't love a good challenge.  So when Julie@TheCraftyQuilter posted the Share the Love Challenge yesterday I accepted!  You can find the details here on her blog.
It only took a few hours complete, start to finish about 6 hours.  That time includes laundry and some must do chores.
Normally I do my quilting on the frame but with littles most of the time they are done with my domestic machine and a walking foot.   Keeping the quilting simple was a must for a quick project.  Also not worrying about perfection gave it a more "organic" look.
Attaching the binding by machine also sped up the project.  I used this video tutorial by Sharon Schambers.
The recipient is an avid gardener, I think she'll love the prints.
Of course no quilt is complete with out GINGHAM.

The recipient of this quilt is my friend Kelley.  She's actually my ex-SIL.   Not everyone can remain friends after a divorce but it has worked for us.   She opens her home to me and my family when my daughter(her Niece) visits from KY.   That way my daughter can visit everyone in place making her visit less stressful. The challenge was to give a small quilt to someone in need, or just to brighten their day.  Kelley deserves more than a quilt.   She's currently selling most of her belongings so she can move into a camper on her moms property until her home is completed in her moms back yard.  Helping her mom with her newly disabled son(my ex) and with property maintenance while babysitting for a 3 yr old grandbaby and taking care of her dad's finances that is in a nursing home that she visits often, and don't forget she and her husband are building a house in here somewhere.  It makes me a nervous wreck just thinking about the amount of responsibility she carries on a daily basis.

So are you joining in the challenge?  Who do you know that needs a little recognition?
