Share the Love Challenge

It's time to take a break from my current projects and make a quicky just for the sake of needing that quilt finish satisfaction.  If the quilt is given away then it's double the satisfaction.  So when I saw Julie's Challenge this morning I knew it was the perfect project.  Of course you've probably already seen the free pattern from The Fat Quarter Shop Blog.
Julie's@TheCraftyQuilter   has a clever way to make two small quilts with this pattern.
Since this is a challenge and you might need a little push to get you motivated she's also offering a give away.  Now I've got your attention, huh?...LOL!

For my version of this challenge I'll only be making one quilt to share with a friend.  After digging in the stash I found a partial charm pack
 of 24 squares
and added 1 coordinating fabric from my stash making
a total of 25 printed charms.
So I had to re-size the pattern.  Starting with
 (5) 5" charms and
(5) 5" white charms
Marking 1/4" away from center on each side as shown below.
Stitching just inside both marked lines
Cutting them between the 2 stitched lines.
Squaring up the HST's to 4 1/2"
Trimming the remaining 20 printed charms to 4 1/2"
and (6) 4 1/2" white charms.
This pattern can be re-sized to any size charm square.  For my borders I cut 3" strips.  The finished mini quilt will be 29 1/2".
See you tomorrow with the big Little finish!

  3. such a pretty heart you have made here. The ruler looks good, I usually draw a line down the centre and stitch either side but that would make my stitching more acurate

  4. I agree that sometimes it's good to take a break and make something small and quick and easy to finish. I had the same thought in mind when I saw this pattern start to circulate. Mine's laid out on the floor, ready to start stitching this morning! Thanks for the tute. Makes me want to get started this instant. You are such an inspiration.
