After weeks, possibly months of this being on my design wall it had to come down. The little dresden's still need to be stitched down...maybe.
The new design wall is still in the playing stage. Thank goodness for design walls because this isn't tickling my funny bone. Maybe grouping like colors would be more appealing.

love that first quilt you show!
ReplyDeleteI hope you will find the motivation to stitch down those Dresdens–it's going to be so pretty! I spent the weekend arranging and re-arranging on my design wall ... sometimes it just takes time (or time off) until we're happy with the arrangement.
ReplyDeleteI agree with the comments about stitching the mini dresdens down. It is a gorgeous quilt! I really like your blue and white 9 patch, too. The simplicity of it makes it beautiful. Maybe adding a thin stop border in red or yellow will give it the pop you are looking for. It's lovely.
ReplyDeleteI love having a design wall! Especially when it seems like a quilt isn't coming together! Arrange, rearrange and arrange again!!
ReplyDeleteI love your Dresdens - do stitch them down, your design is so cute!
ReplyDeleteI like your blue & white WIP too. You might like to consider placing all the lightest blues in the center, going darker toward the outside edges, to create a glowing, luminous effect.
The Dresden quilt is beautiful. I know whatever arrangement you decide to do will look fabulous.
ReplyDeleteI love the double nine patch! You can never go wrong with blue!
ReplyDeleteEverything you do is fabulous! I'll bet that 9-patch will end up with some applique...
ReplyDeleteYour dresden quilt is very pretty. I like the blues, but keep playing until you are happy with them Sometimes you just need to stare at something for a while and let it simmer.
ReplyDeleteNoooo...don't give up on your Dresden flowers Lea Anne - it's so pretty! I've loved that quilt all along! For the pretty blue and white nine patch quilt, it would be interesting to see the difference between this arrangement and your idea of grouping like colors. It might create a really neat fade out effect. It's lovely as it is now though too.
ReplyDeleteLove the Dresden quilt. So happy!!!
ReplyDeleteOooh, your Dresden flowers are stunning, especially with all the lovely little teenies - I know you'll get back to it, but sometimes after looking at it for so long, you just have to put it away for a minute to really appreciate it the next time!
ReplyDeleteThe little dresdens is so cute...
ReplyDeleteWait, I thought your first picture was fabric! That is amazing! Just walk away for a day or so and then come back. I would not change a thing. But you have to be happy.
ReplyDeleteLove the Blue and White nine patches. The other quilt is a happy cheerful quilt.
ReplyDeleteI love both of your quilts shown today but especially the second one. I love blue and I love 9 patch. I am playing with 9 patch too lately. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteMaybe you just need to wait for warmer weather to finish it?
ReplyDeleteI love your dresdens with all the colors mixed together.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful nine-patches too.
Adorable Dresdens. The blues are pretty, I'm sure something will strike your fancy. 9 patches are so versatile.
ReplyDeleteyou can`t not love the dresden quilt it is a real beauty nice nine patch one too
ReplyDeleteOH just loving that gorgeous Dresden beauty!! What a wonderful quilt you have created!
ReplyDeletewow I really love your flowers. This will be so pretty and happy when finished. And the blue and white one is also very pretty. Totally different look, but great.
ReplyDeleteI think you will really like the blue quilt when it is all pieced. You know I love your dresden flower quilt!
ReplyDeleteThe Dresden Flowers are just gorgeous. I would think it would be hard to go from the Dresdan flowers to the 9 patch project. I love the blues you are using in the 9 patch, but it's a lot tamer than what you've been working on. Maybe that's part of the problem with your feelings on that quilt.
ReplyDeletei remember when i didn't have a design wall. ugh! both quilts are wonderful.
ReplyDeleteMy goodness, I love those Dresdens, Lea Anne! Finish it up!
