After weeks, possibly months of this being on my design wall it had to come down. The little dresden's still need to be stitched down...maybe.
The new design wall is still in the playing stage. Thank goodness for design walls because this isn't tickling my funny bone. Maybe grouping like colors would be more appealing.

ReplyDeleteI hope you will find the motivation to stitch down those Dresdens–it's going to be so pretty! I spent the weekend arranging and re-arranging on my design wall ... sometimes it just takes time (or time off) until we're happy with the arrangement.
ReplyDeleteI agree with the comments about stitching the mini dresdens down. It is a gorgeous quilt! I really like your blue and white 9 patch, too. The simplicity of it makes it beautiful. Maybe adding a thin stop border in red or yellow will give it the pop you are looking for. It's lovely.

ReplyDeleteI like your blue & white WIP too. You might like to consider placing all the lightest blues in the center, going darker toward the outside edges, to create a glowing,luminous effect.
The Dresden quilt is beautiful. I know whatever arrangement you decide to do will look fabulous.

ReplyDeleteYour dresden quilt is very pretty. I like the blues, but keep playing until you are happy with them Sometimes you just need to stare at something for a while and let it simmer.
ReplyDeleteNoooo...don't give up on your Dresden flowers Lea Anne - it's so pretty! I've loved that quilt all along! For the pretty blue and white nine patch quilt, it would be interesting to see the difference between this arrangement and your idea of grouping like colors. It might create a really neat fade out effect. It's lovely as it is now though too.

ReplyDeleteOooh, your Dresden flowers are stunning, especially with all the lovely little teenies - I know you'll get back to it, but sometimes after looking at it for so long, you just have to put it away for a minute to really appreciate it the next time!

ReplyDeleteThe Dresden Flowers are just gorgeous. I would think it would be hard to go from the Dresdan flowers to the 9 patch project. I love the blues you are using in the 9 patch, but it's a lot tamer than what you've been working on. Maybe that's part of the problem with your feelings on that quilt.
