Podunk Posy quilt top DONE! The last stitch was made yesterday morning. I was waiting for the perfect lighting to get pictures. Well I waited to long. But did manage to get some tomatoes and sweet banana peppers planted and mulched, hoed the garden, watered the new seedlings and got a small garden wagon load of grass clippings from the neighbor for garden mulch.
So we'll try again today for better pictures and writing the last tutorial for the borders assembly. I'm glad it was finished while my ugly tulips were still blooming. These are the only tulips I have so my quilt wasn't inspired by them. Someone gave them to me. Can you see them in the bottom left of this picture?
Here's a better shot. UGLY! Looks like the tulip of death. Makes me wonder if the person that gave them to me was mad or casting some wicked curse on me!...LOL! Nah..she's a sweety.
This picture didn't turn out to bad. It shows more of the true colors. However my phone camera makes all oranges look very bright. I call my tech guy(my son) to see what he thinks is the problem.
The next two pictures have absolutely nothing to do with my quilt I just thought they were cute. These guys are on my route into town. Now are they donkeys, mules, or jackasses? I don't know the difference. I'm a country girl not a farm girl. My sweety gets that confused also. There's a big difference in growing up in the country and growing up on a farm. My grandparents were farmers and I spent time there but not enough to call myself a farm girl. To much POO on a farm for this country girl.
When taking the pictures it occurred to me that they seem so sad. They didn't even notice I was there. What purpose do they have besides keeping these pastures cleared? Poor ole Eeyore.

ReplyDeleteSuch a great quilt. Perfect for spring. I had a friend who was searching for black iris one year! I didn't quite get the appeal, since the colorful iris are so beautiful. To each his own....

ReplyDeleteI love this quilt. This is on my summer to-do list. Thanks for the tutorial on making your wonderful quilt.
ReplyDeleteLove, love, love this scrappy, pretty top! This was the perfect layout for using those clever Podunk Posy blocks. The butterfly blocks set on point in the corners was a great idea!
ReplyDeleteyour quilt is light and pretty, love your beautiful tulips too!
ReplyDeleteThe quilt is gorgeous and so are the tulips! Plant yellow tulips with the dark ones---a fantastic combination!
ReplyDeleteI have yellow and pink tulips mixed in with these dark purples and they look wonderful! Your quilt is cheerful and sunny and love your choice of corners!!
ReplyDeleteYour quilt is stunning. I love it. Your tulip border is so pretty!
ReplyDeleteI think those 'ugly tulips' are 'black tulips'. I far as I know there are no real black tulips, but deep purple tulips. They are still trying to cultivate black ones. Like you I do not like those 'black' tulips. I prefer your tulips on the quit.
Love from The Netherlands where we have in May lot of fields with tulips of all colors!!
I love those tulips, I don't know what you're talking about it. Send them to me! Along with the quilt, I will take them all off of your hands! Haha. The quilt looks lovely. I can't wait to make one someday using your fab tutorials.
ReplyDeleteIt's beautiful! Love the fresh spring colors too.
ReplyDeleteYour Tulips are certainly prettier than the real ones... of course, the real ones are a beautiful Burgundy wine color... unusual.
ReplyDeleteLove your quilt.
Hugs

ReplyDeleteI love your quilt, very pretty! I think your tulips would look great if there were other colors of tulips surrounding them. My favorite tulips are orange, yellow and red!
ReplyDeleteI have one pink tulip growing in the middle of my yard, I guess a bird dropped a seed there! LOL

ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous quilt!! It made me smile....but then I saw the little donkeys and they made me smile too!!
ReplyDeleteI pass a house that has some of those same dark tulips, planted with pink tulips interspersed. I love the look of their tulip bed. I also love your quilt. If I ever get thru in the yard and get back to sewing this might be my next project!
