Block 1 of the I Love Home BOM

Good Morning Sweet Quilting Friends! .  There's something super cute being stitched up in the Podunk Pretties Studio.  Today is the first day of  The I Love Home Block of the month.    This is my first year being a featured blogger.  I'm having a lot of fun adding my own little Podunk twist to this adorable pattern.  When I saw the 3 little flowers for block one I immediately knew 3 little yo-yo's would be perfect.  They took just a few minutes to make.  Also instead of the raw edge fusible applique I decided to do mine as turned edge applique using freezer paper.  Jacquelynne has given us the freedom to use our blocks in any way we like.  Make sure you come back to see what I've cooked up for these blocks.

So are you ready to make your own little cutie?  You can get Block one, the fabric requirement and cutting instructions at Jacquelynne Steves The Art of Home Blog.  And visit the I Love Home Pinterest Board often for inspiration along the way.  When sharing your blocks on Social Media use the hashtag #ILoveHomeQuilt

Don't forget to stop by and see all the featured bloggers for color and design inspirations  as well as entering for a giveaway on each blog.  That's right, there's several chances to win some great prizes.  So visit each one of the bloggers below.

This months giveaway is one of the beautiful thread collections below.

To enter the giveaway leave a comment below telling me if you've ever used yo'yo's in a quilt.

  170. Yes, I like using yoyos in fabric pictures and also on potholders and appliqued Christmas stockings. They are fun and add another dimension.

  176. I first learned to make yo-yos from my Aunt Ann who showed me how to make yo-yo dolls. And then I made yo-yo toys for my own children. I used yo-yos on one of my very first quilts to cover my lack of knowledge and skill by sewing them over the pinwheel intersections that did not intersect well.

  179. I think I have used one or two yo-yos on a quilt. A couple years ago, a friend called asking if I could make a yo-yo quilt for a lady at her church who had always wanted one. The lady's birthday was the following Saturday . . . could I make one to give her then? It was Tuesday . . .
