Design Wall Monday

Hi-diddly-O Quilters!  Happy Monday Morning!  I'm linking up with Judy once more.  I just love looking at all the design walls and progress. Hop-diddly-op on over and check it for yourselves, you won't regret it!  So here's what I'm so excited about this morning.
TADA!
All 12 finished!  Doing my happy dance, the hard parts over and from here on out its smoooooooth sailing.  It should be done in no time.
See the tulip below with the little pink rose buds in the bottom left corner?  That is from my moms stash.  Its from the 1970's.  I just love it when I can add some real vintage to the mix.
It hit me today that something needs to go in the middle of that "X"  maybe a button or yo-yo?
Can you believe that all these blocks were made from scrap?  Even the white.  And there's so much more yet to use!  Why do I let these scraps get so out of hand?  So I can make a cutie patootie like this that's why!
My fave block...just cause I love red and green.
Threw in some 1930's reproductions in a few of the blocks.
And whats a quilt with out some gingham's!  There's 4 or 5 different colors of gingham hiding among the mish-mash of fabrics.

Friday Freebies!

TGIF! Yeah!  We made it!  Whats better than Friday?  Well free stuff of course!  And because I've not made much progress in the quilting studio I decided to share with you a couple of free patterns.
I'm always looking for cute free patterns, and this week these two little cuties caught my eye.  Wouldn't this look great with some Pamkitty Picnic fabric?  Or make it scrappy from the stash.  You can find the  FLOWER DROPS FREE PATTERN here.
And Manchester Heights (below) would go together quite quickly I think.  Imagine this with some red ginghams and yellows!  I always wanted a yellow house with a red front door.  If I can't have the real thing I can quilt it!

Bailey Home Quilter Followers

For those of my followers that own a BHQ I've some information requested from my last video.  There was some question about the template I was using.  This book is out of print and a little hard to find.  Amazon has it new and used.  Personally if I can find a book used I buy used.   So here's some links to the book and template.

This link is for the book and CD.  I'm not sure if the plastic template is part of the deal.
Just click here  to go to the site.
For the plastic template only I found three sites here, here, and here.

Book only here and here
Now for those of you wondering what in the world this is all about, this is the book I used to learn FM feathers on my domestic machine years ago.  Handy book, great illustrations.  The plastic template was great for learning to draw the perfect feather.  I no longer use this template for feathers but I do use the edge for drawing the spines of a vine on my quilt borders.

And I also wanted to cover where I purchase my thread.  I use mainly Invisafil  100 wt thread.

The best prices that I can find is at Soft Expressions.  Anything 70 wt or higher gives me the best backtracking and doesn't overwhelm the quilt.

The big fish story

The one that didn't get away.  Every year Ross packs up and heads to the mountains for about a week.  He grew up in PA, getting back to the wild refreshes him, always coming back much happier.   He just returned from 10 day vacation Monday.  There's always the story of the monster fish that got away, well not this year.  What a big ole catfish!  Dinner for two!  Yep they ate the whole thing!  Fishermen don't need side dishes to be satisfied.
Below is Neil(the favorite fishing buddy) with his biggest catch of the trip.  And he's single girls!  If you live near Irwin, PA  he's quite the catch.  Super funny, hard working, easy going,  and really cute without the fishing hat to show off that bald head.
But this is the best picture of all the vacation photos.  Just look at those clouds!  You gotta click on this one to make it bigger, gorgeous!
Here in Indiana we don't have views like this.  Its pretty much flat here.
Just get me a lawn chair and some ice tea, what a view!
