Hey quilty friends! Top of the morning to everyone! Did everyone work in the yard or stitch up a storm this weekend? Me? a little of both. I'm so excited to get this week started. There's tons of things on the to-do list. Mowing, weeding and planting are at the top of the list. This time of year sewing Posy's takes a backseat to the real ones. And just like my real flower garden these Podunk Posy are slow to bloom. Slowly but surely I'm making progress with hopes of a Friday Flimsy.
All 36 are ready to be squared up sometime today.
Hopefully I can squeeze in sewing a few steams and leaves this evening also. I'm off to mow the grass, my favorite yard chore. Nothing smells better than fresh cut grass...well maybe fresh baked bread. I should email Yankee Candle company of a new scent they should market...Fresh Cut Grass.....I'd buy it!

ReplyDeletesuch pretty posies best of luck squaring them up. My back garden needs mowing but lots of rain last nght which has fed all the dandelions and daisies that unfortunately pop up all the time!

ReplyDeleteI love flower quilts! I started one many years ago when people were still using cotton/poly blends, and whe I got back into quilting a few years ago pulled it out. It was appliqued irises, and I had at least 1/5 of it done. I knew how badly the poly would start to pill over a few uses, and pitched it. It broke my heart at the time, but I knew I would groan every time I had to work on something that wouldn't loss. Your patchy flowers are going to be beautiful all together in a garden quilt. Can't wait for your Friday flimsy!

Really pretty, I think at this stage I prefer a fabric garden! Our 2 dogs have beaten a few paths into the real one!

ReplyDeleteLovin' those tulips! It snowed here that past two days (Nova Scotia) so for now, fabric florals is all we're enjoying in terms of gardening....but spring will arrive sooner or later. Or so the weatherman has promised! Can't wait to see the whole quilt...the colours look so fresh and pretty!
