Desire to Inspire Challenge

I recently took part in the Henry Glass Desire to Inspire Challenge.  The Challenge is simple they send you fabric, you make something and send them pictures.

The real challenge is you have no idea what fabric you will receive and you only have 3 weeks to design, create and share your finished project.
I received a bundle of Toil and Trouble by Shelly Comiskey.

To be honest I had no idea what to do with these.  I've never worked with Halloween prints.  These needed to sit in the pot and brew for awhile.  After a week of stirring the pot of possibilities....

The plan was to make as many small items for the my daughter and the grand kids as I could.   My grandson, Hunter, is learning to read so I thought it would be fun to add some simple words to a few of the projects.
I also wanted to add that girly touch for my daughter.  The pot holders turned out so cute with the ruffles and scalloped machine stitching.

The more I played with this fabric the more I was inspired to get creative.  The border idea came to me one night while trying to go to sleep with the moon shining in my eyes.   It was a jump out of bed and write it down moment!

The grandbabies are gonna love these cute placemats.

  2. Lea Anne those are wonderful projects! The runner's edges are similar to penny rugs, which I love and yours are perfect with the full moon/witch fabric. Do you know if all the projects made for this challenge will be posted on Henry Glass blog or Facebook? I would love to see what everyone came up with and if there were different fabrics given out or all the same. I think you did a FABULOUS job!
