My goodness time is just flying by for me.  I can't believe I've not blogged all week.  Well I'm working on getting back in the Studio today and dusting off the rotary cutter and sewing machine.  I look forward to sharing the progress on my next free pattern later in the week.  Until then lets pick someone to feature from last weeks Podunk Pickin's participants.

Podunk Pickin's # 39 Winnie the Pooh

Good Morning quilting friends.  Summer is in full swing in Podunk.  You know its finally Summer when the Wild Blackberries are ready to be picked.  Picking them becomes a part of our daily routine for about a week or two.  The weather can make or break the berries.  And this year is a MAKE!  So many huge berries.  That means this winter we'll have plenty of homemade cobbler to warm those cold nights.  We might even make a batch of jam for gift giving throughout the year. 

Well that's enough about Podunk, lets get to what you've been doing over the last week.  As usual I let the random number generator pick from last weeks participants.  This will be the last time I use the random number generator.  I'm not sure it's really random when I can predict what number it will pick.  So after this week I will be picking the old fashion way with paper, pen, and a bowl.  But for this week the predictable program picked #8, Congrats to Koko Toby.

Koko shared this adorable baby quilt of her own design.  Lot's of fussy cutting and quilty math going on here.  I'm looking forward to seeing the finished quilt.

# 9 was Karen from Quilts...Ect.   She linked up this amazing dresden with hand quilting.  OH MY!  Someday I hope to hand make just one quilt....someday.  I absolutely love her dresdens that look like they are twirling in the wind...cute!

No Pickin's

Due to this being a holiday weekend Podunk Pickin's is cancelled for the this week.  It will resume on schedule next Sunday.  Wishing each of you a safe and happy Fourth of July!    

During my recent studio makeover I found The Cherry Blossom Marmalade applique above in my UFO pile.  I'm hoping to find some time this weekend to make it into a pillow.

Podunk Pickin's #37 About the Boots

The past 2 weeks I've been painting the Studio and thought I would be done by now.  Even with my best laid plans I've fallen far behind my schedule.  So no time to sit around whining about it lets just get right to business...Podunk Pickin's. 

Just as in the previous weeks I've let the random number pick one of the amazing projects to feature.  This week it picked...#15...

Podunk Pickin's #36 ~ Quilted Notebook

Hi-de-ho quilt buds!  This week has been a crazy work week.  Who knew painting the studio would take so long.  In my efforts to spruce up my happy place the rest of the house has become a complete mess.  The dining room is the worst.  It's the catch all for everything that needed to moved out of the studio. Not everything could be moved out, so I piled it all in the middle of the Studio.

 The walls are painted, now it's time to paint a few pieces of furniture. This painting will be done in Mr. Podunk's "man room".   In between coats of paint drying I start moving the fabric back into the Studio. I'm looking forward to sharing my new room when it's complete.

So on to Podunk Pickin's to share what you've been up to over the last week.

Podunk Pickin's #35 ~ Rain Drop Quilt

It's been another super busy and quick week.  Remember when you were a kid and time went so slow, well except for summer break that always seemed to fly by.  I've come to the conclusion that it's the fun times that fly by and leave us wanting more.  So this must mean I'm having a loads of fun here in Podunk because time is flying by at lightening speed.  Yep I'm loving all the exciting new ideas and projects and I'm looking forward to sharing them very soon.  Here's  sneak peak at whats keeping my busy at the moment.

Podunk Pickin's #34

Ooops!  It's Monday!?  I lost a day, where did it go?  Boy do I need a vacation.  I've got one coming up pretty soon and the truth be told that's what is getting me behind.  Preparations for the vacation has me running around chasing my tail, trying way to hard to get everything done.  I've lots to share with you but just not today.  Today is all about you and what you've been stitching up over the last week.

Podunk Pickin's #33 Country Tea Party

I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend whether it be spending time with family or finding time for yourself.  Here in Podunk a summer holiday usually means catching up on the many chores required for country living and then taking time for yourself.  The plan was to sew the weekend away but I've not been able to step foot in the Studio since last Thursday.  Well there's still two days left in our long weekend, I'm hopeful there will be plenty of time left to have a little private quilting party.  Speaking of Party's it's Podunk Pickin Linky Partytime!  Woohoo!

Since it's impossible for me to pick just one project from last week to feature this week, I let the Random Number Generator do the hard work for me.  This week it chose #7...

....Which is Cath from Bits 'n Bobs.  Her Country Tea Party handwork is stunning! I love that she adds extra detail to make the project her own.

Podunk Pickin's #32, Cinema at 7

This weeks pick inspired me to take a walk down memory lane.  To a time when things were easier.  Long before the internet and cable TV.  A time when families actually spent time together.  As much as I love the internet and our 200+ channels of non stop entertainment I still miss those days of nothing to do and nothing to watch on TV.   Sundays in my childhood home was the only day our family was all together.  During the spring and summer our Sundays were spent tending to the garden and yard work.  But in the winter it was playtime.  Most of our Sundays were spent at the Cinema watching the latest action movies.  Afterwards we'd head off to the Mall for an ice cream cone (Rocky Road for me) from Baskin Robins. Leisurely strolling around window shopping, rarely even stepping foot into the shops.  Of course the day wouldn't be complete until dad and my brother had a weekly visit to the tool department in Sears while mom and I shopped for new cloths...on the clearance racks of course.  So what does all this have to do with this weeks pick?

Well the random number generator chose #9.

Podunk Pickin's # 26 ~ Upcycling Jeans

Good Morning quilting Buds!  It's Podunk Pickin's time again. 

 My trusty friend the Random Number Generator has picked another inspiring quilting project from the last group of link ups.

It chose link up #1, which was this Jean quilt made from what else...old jeans.  You can find the tutorial for this quilt at Densyendehimmel blog.    What a great idea for up-cycling.  I made jean quilt years ago.  It's the most loved and used quilt I own.  It's warm and cozy, my kids say it feels like home.
