Sycamore Hill Quilts

I hadn't planned on writing a post today, then I read my email. Have you seen this?!  Gorgeous!  This new BOM created by
is called Longmeadow.  I love the Pennsylvania Dutch feel of this quilt.  Each month starting October 1st Christy will post a new block for this quilt and they are FREE.

The quilt pattern isn't totally free.  The center block is sold as a PDF pattern at Patternspot.  It's very reasonably priced, a small price to pay for such an amazing pattern.

How many of you are ready to start digging though those fabric bins?

  1. Wow, that's really pretty. So... do you know how are you going to "Podunk-ify" it?

  2. This is such a pretty pattern - more applique than comfortable for me, but thank you for the link and will be sure to add it to my side bar.

  4. Oh my, that is so pretty! But probably too much for someone new to appliqué. I'm excited to check it out though - I might have to try a couple of the blocks!

  5. Awesome.I have to improve my applique.

  6. Lea Anne, this is so lovely! Thank you for the link. I am nearly finished preping 'Peggy's Puzzle' from Simple Bird Studio as my second applique quilt. I was thinking of trying 'My Tweets' next but think this will be better for more practice before I tackle Erin's. I am so enjoying choosing the fabric and preparing the applique, it is so relaxing and instills peace. Ok, I think I am hooked. Do you think Moda muslin is suitable background fabric or is it too fine a weave?

  7. Wow that gorgeous! Are you going to do it? I do much better finishing if I have a buddy that's doing it too. I'll go order and sign up! I love needle turn appliqué 😜

  8. I'm not seeing any mention on her blog or website about it being free after buying the center. Are you sure it's free after I buy it?
