~ It's PKM Playtime ~

This past year has been  a whirlwind of deadlines, tech work, numbers crunching..yukky this and yukky that.  It's so nice to just play.  Nothing soothes my soul like a little PKM playtime.

To once again feel that freedom of just sewing and design as I go.  Back in my element of flying by the seat of my pants feels so right.  When there's no pressure to get it done I can just enjoy the little things like how pretty these fabrics are as they sit in a pile waiting to be sewn together.

Or how much I love the look of the scrunched mess behind the presser foot.
Dresden blocks are my go to blocks.  They have never let me down when I want  to stitch up something cute and unique.

I'm not sure exactly how this is going to finish.....And that makes me happy.  Just letting it take on a life of it's own.   *sigh*  Life is good.

Maybe I need a few more blocks?...Only time will tell!   So I'm curious about your quilting process.  Are you like me and just fly by the seat of your pants?
Do you like to have a design plan with drawings?
Do you buy patterns so you don't have to think about the quilt design?

Linking up at all these fabulous linky parties.  Hop on over to be inspired!

  1. I am a confirmed fly by the seat of my pants woman. Love it! Your dresdens are looking beautiful.

  2. They are so cute just sitting on your little design wall mats:) I do buy patterns so I don't have to think and also like to think up ideas and run them through EQ.

  3. I let y quilts evolve and rarely start with a firm plan. I enjoy the problem solving. Thanks for linking up with Oh Scrap!

  4. Hum, yes. I tend to have a design in mind most of the time. Although I buy books and patterns for inspiration I don't make a lot of quilts from purchased patterns. I seem to see quilts from many sources and figure out how to make a version of it. Love your PKM prints. I see those and think of you and your blog!

  5. These are so stinkin' cute. I to love when there are no deadlines and I can just play in my sewing room.

  6. I use a bit of all three approaches. Sometimes I just make it up as I go, sometime I plan it out first and if I need a project by a deadline, I'll use a pattern.

  7. I just love those fabrics you are showing so much. Are they all from the same line? Or from several different , just same designer. By the way, if you get the urge to make another pin cushion like the one you just made for yourself, I would totally buy it! I am in love with it.
