So tell me, do you have fabric that looks so cute sitting on the shelf that you won't cut into it? Well I did until today. This is some of my most treasured fabric. Most of the fat quarters are Pam Kitty but there's a couple from other designers. And the white cherry fabric....its not going in this quilt, it's being saved for just the right project. But it sure looks adorable as a backdrop for this little stack of cuties.
In the last few weeks I've spent hours upon hours in waiting rooms. During this time I took my laptop and designed quilts. How many? Oh about 20, give or take. Will I make them all? Probably not, but they were fun to design. There was one that really tickle me pink, I call it "First Kiss". You guessed it, it's a Valentine quilt. I spent the entire day going over measurements and double checking the quilt math, then I started cutting. All of the 16 blocks are cut and ready to assemble. Take a look at the little fussy cut heart....awe...so adorable!
Well since everything is cut, I might as well get in a little late night sewing.
See you in a day or two with my progress....maybe a finished top! Wish me luck!
Linking up at some awesome linky partys, hop on over and join the fun!

Oh, I had some of that cherry print fabric (Valentine Charity quilt) - was heart broken when I used up the last little scrap in the last postage stamp quilt.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see it! I could use another Valentine quilt myself...
ReplyDeletesome real beauties you have there, like you I tend not to use my favourite fabrics, have some I am not keen on which I am using on mini quilts and surised how good they look when made up. Hope hospital appointments went well. Thinking of EQ7 but not sure I will understand it
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to seeing your creation! Great idea to design quilts while you are waiting. You do come up with some beautiful designs!
ReplyDeleteYes I have a hard time unwrapping precuts like FQ bundles or jellyrolls. I have a big FQ bundle of colorful solids and a Hello Darling JR that I have been looking at for months. BUT the first Jellyroll I ever bought unwrapped for over 3 years before I used it, LOL
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see what your finished quilt looks like. It's nice to hear that I'm not the only one who designs lots of quilts that I will probably never make. It's a lot of fun to design them and look at them and post them (HINT HINT) even if I never get around to making them.
ReplyDeleteoh it's adorable. Spend the fabric, you need to look at really pretty things. LeeAnna
ReplyDeleteThose are some pretty cute fabrics--I can understand why it would be hard to cut up. I have a bundle of the first line of Flower Sugar from Lucien that I haven't been able to use yet--just too adorable and I'm not done petting it!!
ReplyDeletesome fabrics cry out to be hugged and adored before being cut. I don't see anything wrong with that at all and have more than a few set aside for just such treatment. Eventually they'll make their ways into quilts.
ReplyDeleteI love that! I also love all Lucin fabric
ReplyDeleteOh that is some lovely fabric indeed!
ReplyDeleteCute fabrics and I can't wait to see more of this!!
ReplyDeleteI do have some fabrics on my shelves that I love so much I cannot bring myself to cut into them (mostly because they are no longer available)...but seeing what you're up to has given me a metaphorical kick in the pants! For which I thank you!!!!
ReplyDeleteThat is going to be a darling quilt -- the fabrics are fabulous together. hope you get a lot of sewing time this week so we can see what you make with all these fun fabrics.
ReplyDeleteLove those fabrics! The fussycut hearts are perfect in that block. I want to make a Valentine's quilt someday...perhaps you've inspired me to finally get started!
ReplyDeleteYou've picked some beauties for this project. Looking forward to seeing it come together.
