The best explanation of my hiatus is...burn out. Months passed without stepping foot in my happy place. Then it was "Enter with CAUTION!" I thought Mr. Podunk was going to need the hedge trimmers to release me from all the cobwebs.
After knocking down the cobwebs I started quilting up a few older quilts tops. I'll start sharing those one at a time on January 2, 2023.
The new Podunk will be more like the old Podunk. Just me sharing my creations and Podunk happenings. No YouTube and no pattern shop. I just want to create and share here on the blog. No deadlines, no algorithms to worry about and no more learning new technology every other month.
For those I let down, I'm sorry. Please understand that my mental and physical health was taking a hard hit because I was a one man band doing it all, from writing patterns to editing videos. My best quilting buddy told me I was wrong for stopping without letting everyone know. I had to take care of me and get rid of a few negative things in my life.
I'm back, doing what I love, feeling better about everything. If your still here, Thank you for understanding. I look forward to our quilting journey. And if your wondering...If I create it...I'll tell you how to recreate it here on the blog..FREE.
Until Next Time...
I hope you find time to stitch up something sweet!
I've tried to comment twice for for some reason they disappear before I hit the publish button. I'm glad you're back!
ReplyDeleteI was probably trying to fix some blogger issues while you were trying to reply.🙃 Sorry for the inconvenience.
DeleteWelcome back! I've missed reading about your adventures in quilting. It's good that you took the time out to take care of yourself.
ReplyDeleteI've missed being here and chatting with all my quilt loving friends. It'll be nice to be back to normal.
DeleteI have tried many times to check on your blog but saw a notice claiming I had to have your permission. Alas!
ReplyDeleteI had the blog turned to private while I was away. One less thing to deal with at the time.
DeleteThank you! I'm looking forward to a slower pace.
ReplyDeleteThank you for letting people know. I was someone who just watched your You Tubes and wondered what had happened to you. Glad to hear all is well again and will look forward to your blog. Sincerely, Janine Baker

I'm so delighted to see you back! I look forward to seeing more of your beautiful and inspirational work! I hope 2023 is a better year for all of us <3
ReplyDeleteI have seen you on Facebook, Lea Anne, so I thought like so many others you abandoned your blog for FB and Instagram. So happy that you will continue blogging. After reading this, I think we are thinking similar thoughts. I don't get the algorithm crap and don't care or want to learn it. I like blogging, but not the other social media as much. I do have a few groups I enjoy on FB, but for the most part I too will abandon or do way less there. They have so many ads popping up now that it's not as enjoyable. I feel you can get to know people better on blogs and aren't limited to how many photos or how much text you write and you don't have to try and figure out hashtags! I want to create purses for Sew Powerful charity I donate them too as well as donate quilts I make to Project Linus. I am done with selling what I make (it is way too hard to sell and even harder to sell online), so I am discounting what I have left in my PayHip shop and will concentrate on creating for donating to charities (and any custom jobs that I might get). I know you had some heartache in 2022, so here's to the best year in 2023 to you!!! Here's to simplifying our lives too. Cheers! Hugs!!!
ReplyDeleteI am so happy your are back !!! Even happier to know you are OK :-)
ReplyDeleteSo happy you are back and ok. I began to get worried and have checked back several times. While I will miss your YouTube channel, I completely understand.
