Many of you may not know my birthday is on April Fool's Day. Mom always said the joke was on her because I came into this world nearly a month early. The best thing about my birthday is no one ever forgets April Fool's . I can't think of a better day to have a birthday than a day that is a celebration of laughter. What is no laughing matter is I'm turning 50! Really I'm not upset about turning 50, it just saying it, I'm 50. Shouldn't I feel more like an adult now that I'm 50? I don't. I feel the same as I did at 30 or 40. Okay maybe not exactly the same, but I can still do a cartwheel! Don't make me show you, I said I can do one I didn't say I could do it gracefully!...LOL!
One of things about growing older is things can a little get stale, you have to work a little harder at keeping things fresh and fun. How do you do that? Well some buy a new sports car or take a trip across the world. I play dress up....with my dog. A gal can only see so many cute little dogs on quilts before she gets jealous. Awe...isn't she just the cutest! That intense look on her face, that's what she looks like when she's focused on a piece of hot dog in my hand. Miss Khaleesi had no interest in my quilt or the bow on her head without the hot dog. I'm not sure she had fun but I had a blast. It doesn't take much to make this ole gal chuckle.
It's been a fun birthday week. Dad and I started off the week with our yearly birthday dinner at a local Cafeteria called Grays. I forgot to take pictures so I borrowed some from Google. Dad and I love to talk. Taking pictures never even crossed my mind.
Grays has the best pies! My favorite is the Chocolate Cream....MMMM....so good! After eating way too much we did a little shopping to walk off the pie. It's days like this that I love the most. Just spending time together with family, telling stories of the good ole days and laughing. Priceless.

To put the icing on the icing on the birthday cake I was tagged on Instagram by @lizahorgan. She made this quilt using my pattern Turnabout Tulips. It will be a fund raiser quilt. I love the bright colors...so cute! These are my colors! This is the best part pattern designing. Seeing them being made and loved. Well that's my birthday week so far but the weeks not over. I've had a couple of other fun things happening in the background this week that I'll share as soon as I can. Then this weekend is party time with my boys which means non stop laughter.
