Well we've been back for three days, it's just that I've been so busy helping momma with her painting and cleaning that I've not had time to spend at my desk. We had a wonderful extended weekend at the in-laws and did a little bit of site seeing while in PA. Not one Quilt Shop! He really dislikes them. That's OK, its good for me to take a total break from all things quilty from time to time.
My dear Ross is from PA and loves to show it off whenever he can. As with most men from PA he's quite the outdoorsman so most of our trips back home are spent in the wild! This time he took me to Youghiogheny River to see the Ohiopyle Falls.
Let me tell you, this water below made my heart race, so much power. Yes I know it's a little waterfall but back here in flat Indiana we don't have rivers with such force. Would you believe that once a year there's people out there that take their canoes and kayaks over this fall! Yikes! I'm thinking that they've bumped their heads one to many times in the process
I could have sat on the bank all day and watched the stream below, beautiful and music to my ears.
This large fungus was so lovely and unique.
This old homestead was along one of the trails in the state park. Ross thought we should have brought one of my quilts and used the homestead as a backdrop for a photo shoot, I guess he'll just have to do.
My sweetie Ross and his Mum, Norma. Saying I admire this lady is an understatement, she's an amazing 83 yrs old and still works as a Realtor, is an active member of several garden clubs, she sews, cooks and just does it all! And she single!
It's been about 12 days since I've stepped foot in my studio, so after catching up on some shopping, cleaning, gardening, and canning I may get back in there one day soon.
Until next time "Quilt out of Your Comfort Zone!"
