This years first finish

My first finish of the year...Yeah!!!   I'm calling her "Scrap Happy Girl"  Made from a bundle of "About a Girl"  By Anni Downs for Henry Glass Fabrics.  I won this cute little bundle during the Flair for Fabric book Hop.  My quilt is similar to the free pattern found at Henry Glass.  Since it's a oversized baby quilt I decided to keep the quilting simple.  Using my DM I quilted simple straight lines, just enough to hold the batting in place.
Trying my best to use every last piece of fabric I pieced a scrappy back.
And a scrappy binding.
I also whipped together two  16 inch pillow shams.  You can read more about the Bike pillow here.
I spy something super sweet in the photo below...do you?  HINT....I'm obsessed with this tasty little fruit.
Here the leftovers, maybe enough for a mug rug.  It would be a shame not to use those little flowers after making them.  That's a project for another day.
I'm linking up today with Connie@FreeMotionbytheRiver for Linky Tuesday

Hop on over and be inspired!

  1. Cute quilt! I love scrappy bindings! Looks like you barely have enough for a mug rug!

  2. What a pretty first finish! Or finishes, as one pillow sham count for one finish in my book. The three pieces are very beautiful and I like how you mixed all those pretty colors and motifs. There's a feeling of softness to that quilt. And yes, the leftovers would make an equally beautiful mug rug. I would love to see it.

  4. Love the bike. Watermelons are my favorite, closely followed by cherries. Very cute and nicely made quilt. Great start on a productive year!

  13. I came here because of the Henry Glass blog post and just wanted to tell you that I love what you did with this fabric! I bought a panel/block print and was trying to figure out how to use it, and your quilt fits the bill!! I think I'm ADHD too ( at least I am with my quilting life!!) :-) and I'm having fun reading through your blog posts: You've made some awfully nice quilts!! Thanks for sharing! Hugs, H in Healdsburg
