....That I started a new quilt. Well technically it can be called working on a UFO, because the nine patches were made over a year ago... I think. This all started while moving things around in the studio. You know a little spring cleaning. It quickly became the purging of EVERYTHING. 2 garbage bags full of decor fabric, 1 medium size box things I don't need or use, and a bolt of decor fabric and a lot of dust bunnies
GONE, DONATED, OUT OF MY SPACE...WHOOHOO!
There's still some math to work out and some serious brainstorming that needs to be done on pieced border. You see EQ7 doesn't tell you the easiest way to piece things, actually it goes about things the hard way most of the time.
Once I get all the details worked out I share more of this pattern, but for now here's a cute little pile of scraps. So pretty...I tell my hubby all the time that we have the prettiest trash in Podunk!

ReplyDeleteI am liking your sneak preview! Looking forward to seeing the full reveal. Cleaning out feels sooo good!!
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to a reveal as well... this gets me in the mood for the 4th of July! Best time of the year.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see!
ReplyDeleteI tell my hubby he is not allowed to empty the wastebaskets in my sewing room, because I like looking at all the trimmings jumbled up. Scraps are so pretty!!
ReplyDeleteHee hee - Beth I tell my husband the same thing.
ReplyDeleteLea Anne you do have awful pretty trash! This is a great time of year to be working on something patriotic!
Love your blocks!!! I just got EQ7 and am still learning the ropes. Did design a quilt on it, but have yet to actually do it. Lol. Visiting from TGIFF!

Congrats on that cleaning toss. I must do the same too. You do have pretty trash. I think it's because you have such pretty fabric. Looking forward to the reveal also. Can't have enough patriotic quilts. Thanks for linking to WIPs Be Gone!
ReplyDeleteDon't you just love a good studio clean-out?
ReplyDeleteI like your reds, whites, and blues...sounds like a good start indeed!
ReplyDeletelooks like another great quilt coming to life here and a good clear out as well. Been thinking of EQ7 for ages but from what you say I might struggle if it is not good at all parts of a quilt
ReplyDeleteLooks kind of like Goose in the Pond block and then some. Prettiest trash and no dust bunnies? Lucky you! Even my sewing machine seems to have dust bunnies. I use my scraps as mulch so I guess I might have the prettiest mulch because I have a lot of the same fabrics you do!
ReplyDeleteI spy a great summertime quilt in the works! Can't wait to see more. Thanks for sharing with Oh Scrap!
ReplyDeletecan't wait to see what you do with this one. Love the collection of light dark blues in that basket.
ReplyDeleteLooks great so far - I completely agree with you on EQ7 picking the hardest way to piece a block!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your purge! I have a bunch of fabric that I should probably purge myself, but I think of all the money spent and I just can't do it! Your quilt looks like it is going to be fabulous!
ReplyDeleteYou had have some gorgeous scraps there (oh and the blocks are gorgeous too)!
