Planning and designing

Edited post to add to linky part over at Patchouli Moon Studio.  This is a  new linky party called Weekend link Party.  You can link up anything you've created, old or new or a work in progress.
At the end of everyday I make an unofficial list in my mind of the next days plan.  Small bits of housekeeping, yard work and the obvious large portion of the day dedicated to quilting.  Boring you with the details of non quilty chores seems pointless since they weren't accomplished.  I'm sure this has never happened to you.  The quilting plan was to organize this box of bags into plastic storage containers and then do some longarm work.
Among the many bags were 2 bags of test blocks, wing clippings, you know things you can't bare to throw out, with the intentions of someday using.  This is where things get a little fuzzy, I'm not exactly how it came to be but before I knew it I was playing that old familiar tune "Lets get Scrap Happy"
Eenie, Meanie, Minie, Moe...grab some scraps then go sew!
AWE...cute but it still is lacking....

Humm.... the scraps produced from squaring up still have some life left in them.   Since they are already out of the box I might as well use them.
There wasn't enough from the new scrap pieces to make all the petal shapes.  A quick dig into the box and a few hours later we have this.
So much more fun than laundry.  So I guess the best way to design a quilt is to have a long list of boring chores, inspiration will creep in and before you know it you've got yourself a quilt.
Whats left of the selected scraps are now in the "Burn Pile".   No I don't plan on burning them.  Its the Eleanor Burns pile.  You see when I first started quilting I  watched Eleanor toss those scraps over her shoulder and I'd laugh.  I picked up this nasty habit of tossing the unsewable bits to the floor.  It still makes me giggle as I toss them over my shoulder and say "just get rid of it"  The ones in the green circle are still sewable how did they get on the floor?
Well it's another day with another plan and these little left overs aren't in it.  But that doesn't mean anything around here!  I'm headed over to Linky Tuesday at FreeMotionbytheRiver, there's always lots of pretty distractions, come on over and join in!
